A large P&F crowd of over 40 members came to The Mullaloo
Beach Hotel for an evening of good company, music & dancing.
Unfortunately the music was quite disappointing and we were
left wondering where the advertised classic hits of the 70′s, 80′s & 90′s were.
After many of us making requests from the DJ, he finally played
maybe 4 or 5 tracks, however he reverted to the irritating
disco music so many places think we want to here – too loud to talk
and not good dancing music!

However we had plenty of P&F members to talk too plus a crowd of others
our age and we made the most of the night with good conversation
and fun times & a bit of dancing. We always do our best to provide our members
with quality events, however sometimes venues change things on us & then it is
beyond our control. We really appreciate the members who come along
to have a good night out and enjoy themselves. Please, if you find a good venue
let us know so we can book an event there!

An intimate P&F group braved the very wet weather and expensive
Thai banquet at Nahm Thai, but none were disappointed they came & tried
this most spectacular of dinners. Nahm Thai has been voted as having
the best Thai dishes in Perth by both the Sunday Times Magazine and
The West Australian, so in true P&F fashion we decided to see if the dishes were well
deserving of the accolades they have. The main award winning dishes were the
crispy pork hock and the duck curry. I think we all agreed tonight that
they were both astounding dishes. So was the crispy barramundi – the best
barramundi I have ever had, just so succulent and delicious. The
soft shell crab was exquisite and the tiger prawns amazing. I could go on
but believe me the rest of the dishes were just as awesome.

Tonight was a real treat, with so many superb dishes, a restaurant with ambience
and staff who smile and help without being pushy.
It was the best Thai I have ever had in Perth and the flavours had the richness
and layers only a passionate master chef can do. I will definitely be going back
soon to savour those flavours as will most who came tonight. If you like
Thai try Nahm Thai – absolutely delicious…but be careful because your partner
might even think you like the food more than them…

A good crowd of live music lovers came along to here the fabulous Toby
at the grungy Indi bar, Scarborough’s famous live music venue. If you
like the feel & vibe of original live music and support independent WA
musicians, the Indi is the place to go. The best thing about the Indi is
the audience is so close to the musicians and this creates a really intimate
& energising atmosphere. The musicians also are happy to talk & mingle with the
audience in breaks and the feel & vibe of the place is really unique in
Perth. It’s a different night out – a good night to experience with some excellent
music & entertainment. Oh and the food & service … was some of the best we have
ever had at a hotel. I think we could go back there just for the food, let alone the music …

The famous 5 star revolving restaurant at the top of St Martin’s Tower
with stunning views over Perth, was a wonderful venue to enjoy
a 5 star dinner.  A large crowd came along to sample C and check out
the views that only this venue can provide. It is really amazing
experiencing dinner while revolving and it takes awhile to find
your bearings and familiarize yourself with things moving. This
was a stunning venue and a very enjoyable evening with friends…

The Glengarry is always a fun night out for music & dancing. The dance floor
was so packed that people were dancing everywhere – between the tables and
anywhere there was a space to move. The band, One Way Street, are the best to
get the party going, with such fabulous classic dance music. The
best was Let’s Stick Together – how much did they sound like Roxy Music?
The lead singer could have been Brian Ferry’s brother he was so similar
in looks, voice and body language. We are lucky to have The Glengarry
so close with it being one of the few venues to offer such an entertaining
night for the cost of a few drinks…

The famous Elmars in the Valley put on a fabulous selection of special
boutique beers and the most delicious European Banquet with so many
unbelievable treats to eat. With three courses and the best ever pork hock
covered with tasty crackling tonight was a delight.

Some of us took a limousine ride from Hillarys and sipped on German
champagne to get us in the mood for Elmars. It was a lovely way to arrive
out in the valley and our limo awaited us to finish our dinner
and took us back to Hillarys.

A good crowd came out to celebrate St Patrick’s Day at The Saint George Hotel
in Innaloo. Some of us remembered to wear green, and there was quite a bit of green on show
on other hotel patrons. Tonight we had our own reserved area with such excellent ambiance, seating and space,
our own barman and the best ever share platters of tasty treats to keep our
taste buds tantalized. They were delicious and so diverse. it was a fabulous lounge area to meet,
mix & mingle.

Afterwards we headed into the main bar area for some music and dancing
and we made the most of the sizable dance floor and DJ. The Saint is such a fantastic hotel with
great service, style and atmosphere. a big venue with big style.

What a fabulous evening this was. We met at Ocean One Bar on Scarborough Beach for drinks,
& watched the sun go down, it was the perfect place on a hot summer night. We were so engaged
in great conversation it was difficult to get everyone together to head upstairs to Thai Palace
for our sumptuous and delicious Asian banquet.

Our starters were so tasty & just the beginning. Our mains followed & consisted of
so many delicious and warming dishes. There was so much to eat we couldn’t keep up!
Terrific conversation and great company accompanied our dinner and we
were the last to leave once again. We headed back to Ocean One Bar and claimed some
nice tables outside, where we enjoyed the rest of the evening with terrific conversation
dancing and laughing. So many great members, such a top night out, it was terrific.

If you like your chilli mussels tonight was a veritable
feast of the best ever mussels in Perth. So fresh
& tasty we were guessing what the secret ingredients
were but the secret recipe is still secret
because we couldn’t guess all the delicious flavours.
It was the depth and realm of tastes and the mix of mini black
mussels with the huge New Zealand mussels
that set this bowl on fire. Some very tasty gourmet garlic
bread soaked up our juices.

We had a fabulous evening with so much tasty
food, such good conversation and company it was
awesome. Thanks to our chef John and to those
wonderful members who helped clean up
and shared this really fun evening with us.

Scarborough Beach

We meet tonight at the hip Ocean One Bar on Scarborough Beach for some
mix ‘n mingle time before the most delicious and sumptuous
Asian Banquet at Thai Palace Cambodian Restaurant, just upstairs
from Ocean One.

We dined here early last year and it was so popular we are back, so come & enjoy
plentiful and tasty Asian flavours and a fabulous atmosphere overlooking
Scarborough Beach.  Afterwards, relax with good company at Thai Palace or
head back for some music and action at Ocean One Bar.
